Hello, and welcome to our blog! We're a wedding photography team based in Melbourne, Australia. We hope you grab a coffee (or tea if you prefer) and enjoy viewing our latest work, as well as getting a little peek into our lives...
These two exemplify tender love! The way he lightly caresses her cheek, the way she looks deeply into his eyes. It’s easy to see and agree that they’re meant to be together. It all started online, progressing to an in-person meeting at a coffee shop (how very Melbourne), fast forward a little and Kraig popped the question while on holiday. In the Swiss Alps of all places! Being a bit of a tech geek, Kraig had a drone and managed to record the entire proposal himself. Yet he didn’t forget family, honour and respect, making sure to ask Claire’s Dad for her hand in marriage before going on the holiday. Her Dad simply asked, “What took you so long?”.
When planning the engagement photos, anywhere was acceptable to Claire, as long as it involved a beach. And some pretty rocks. We settled upon Red Bluff, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Being on the bay, there were small gentle waves together with a sea breeze. Melbourne weather played along nicely with a warm day together with some cloud cover, thankfully not blistering heat or a torrential downpour! We had a short walk on the beach to reach the rocks and then it was straight into photos, which they took to like ducks to water. Kraig and Claire were naturals, with so much emotional connection through the various poses! The tenderness and love they expressed to each other had us catching our breath at times as the session continued. The breeze also worked to our advantage, no massive fan required to create movement in Claire’s dress or hair. The sea breeze played with Claire’s beautiful curls, adding a soft and natural windswept look to some of the pictures.
As we headed towards our second location of Black Rock pier, that lovely sea breeze was starting to turn a bit chilly. The evening quickly became… invigorating! Some would say refreshing… and could easily be forgiven for calling it life-changing! Claire was such a trooper though, even as the temperatures dropped, she soldiered on and kept up her radiant smile.
We’re so honoured to capture the beginning of their story, and excited for their wedding coming in April 2020!!!
You’ll often hear photographers say they love photographing during the golden hour, and there’s a reason for that. Just LOOK at the stunning GLOW we found during the golden hour! Kraig & Claire were still playful, ready to try their hands at lifts as well as dips for some more advanced poses. And of course, they nailed it! They came prepared with a couple of outfits, and thankfully we brought a popup change room. Claire channelled her inner chameleon and hey presto! We were photographing a new couple!
As the evening was drawing to a close, Melbourne turned on a light show for us with stunning pinks strewn throughout the sky!
XOXO,
Mark and Anncilla
