Autumn Melbourne Surprise Proposal | Ringwood Wedding Photographer

The Prelude

Daniel had it all planned. He had the girl. He had the ring. He had a good feeling she’d say yes. The only thing missing was someone to document it, and that’s where we stepped in. Our first surprise proposal. Meeting Daniel beforehand in the park we could tell it was a mixture of nerves & joy, knowing he was on the threshold of the biggest moment and the start of the rest of his life! We spoke for a few minutes while scouting around for potential locations and during our short time together learnt that Daniel and Emma had been courting for two years. The discussion of marriage arose whilst courting and they both just knew they were in it together. We made our final arrangements, the preferred location, how we’d communicate without alerting Emma, and where we’d be hiding/sneaking around. Crunch time was rapidly approaching. There were still a couple of things to do before he could “put a ring on it”, like getting flowers (well done mum & dad, you sure raised a romantic gentleman here), fetching Emma and bringing her back to the park for an innocent walk in the sunshine (read that as proposal).

We scouted a little more and found the most stunning autumn tree, all the leaves were a wonderful orange with a little yellow thrown in. There would definitely be pictures involving that tree!
The first message arrived “Leaving hers now”, it was time to find our places, recheck cameras and settings one last time, making sure everything was ready. Just a short time later, just a brief “Here”. It was officially go-time, with everything happening right now! Time to blend into the background.
Daniel & Emma walked along down near the river, paused briefly, then walked over the bridge. They stopped. He dropped to one knee, pulled out the ring and asked for her hand in return. There were a few quiet “Awww’s” from the other visitors around the park witnessing the proposal.

Success! Daniel & Emma are officially engaged!

YES! She said Yes! Once they had their moment and came down off the bridge we went over and met Emma for the first time, what a lovely young lady. Daniel, you’ve done well here! Now we could all relax and let the fun begin, and what fun it was photographing these two! The joy, the love, the youthful spirit. We all had the best time!
So looking forward to these two getting married!
